How to do a bouncy blow-dry at home:

1.    Care for your hair

Hair that is in good condition will shine through any style. Choose shampoo and conditioner that suit your hair type, and make sure that you rinse out your conditioner really well. This will ensure that you don’t have any product buildup weighing down the hair.

2.    Protect your strands from heat damage

A heat protection spray is really important to protect the lengths of you hair from the heat of the blow dryer. Spray formulas are best applied to damp hair and brushed through with a wet brush or wide bristled comb to ensure that every strand is coated. Pay special attention to the areas where you apply more heat or experience breakage like the strands around the face and the mid lengths at the back of your head.

3.    Lift those roots

A root-lift formula can really help give you the bounce that you’re looking for. Work the product right into the roots with a gentle massage before you start drying. This volumising formula will do a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to getting and maintaining lift.

To really get that volume, you want to be drying the hair in the direction that you want for it to stay. Start by detangling the hair with a wide tooth comb so that it looks smooth. Then get right into those roots. Use your fingers to lift the hair at the roots away from the scalp. Then use a blow dryer blowing the hairs directly up. This direct heat will activate the volumising effects of your root formula giving you a great lift that should stay all day. Continue to rough dry with your fingers until your hair is completely dry. Before moving on, run your hands through the mid to end lengths of your hair to make sure that they are completely dry.

4.    Invest in a game changing heat tool

Most people find it a real challenge to do a full round brush blow dry on themselves. That’s why this cheats way is so fantastic! Instead of fussing about wishing that you had a second set of arms, grab yourself a hot brush. These tools look like a conventional hair brush but has heated bristles that are perfect for smoothing and styling.

Starting with the bottom section, place the brush under the hair right at the roots and pushing out and down, smooth the brush along the whole length of the hair. For a bit of extra flair, curl the brush inwards at the end to get an elegant flick. The more you curve, the more curl you will get in the hair. 
It’s really important to allow the heat to get through each strand of the hair so don’t cut corners with your sectioning. You can’t go wrong with a section at the ears, another above the brows and a small top section. Another note on sectioning, as you move through each section with the brush, be careful not to squash the under layers down. While the hair is warm, it is still cooling down and setting its shape so you don’t want to accidentally loose all of that bounce that you worked so hard for. This technique might take a bit of practice but will be so worth it in the end.

5.    Lock in the shine

Now you’ve got your shape, let’s talk finishing touches. A styling cream or serum will smooth flyaways and add that beautiful shine. Add a small amount to the palms and use your fingers to run the product lighty over the hair.

At Easter, desserts are no trifling matter! Elevate your Woolworths Cinnabon hot cross buns with this simple, stunning dish that’ll be the star of the spread.

Ingredients:

• 200g frozen raspberries, plus extra to serve

• 2 tsp ground cinnamon

• 3/4 cup caster sugar

• 600ml Woolworths thickened cream

• 8ml Woolworths Cinnabon hot cross buns

• 2 tbs pistachios, roughly chopped

• 100g raspberries

• 4 medium hollow Easter eggs, broken

Directions:

Step 1

In a medium saucepan, place frozen raspberry, cinnamon, 1/2 cup sugar and 1/4 cup water. Cook over medium heat, stirring, for 5-7 minutes or until thickened. Set aside in fridge to cool completely.

Step 2

Meanwhile, using an electric mixer, beat cream and remaining sugar in a large bowl until stiff peaks form.

Step 3

Halve 6 buns widthways, and slice remaining 2 buns into strips. Place lids of halved buns around the edge of a trifle bowl. Place bun bases in the centre to make an even layer.

Step 4

Layer with cream mixture, raspberry coulis, pistachio, raspberry and remaining bun pieces. Top with eggs. Serve.

Romance your loved one with the best Valentine's dinner. Make this easy baked feta pasta with a secret message: heart-shaped feta. This creamy pasta will impress.

Ingredients

200g smooth feta

600g Solanato tomatoes

3 clove garlic, bruised

1 tbs extra virgin olive oil

1 tsp dried chilli flakes

250g penne

2 tbs basil leaves (to serve)

Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 200°C/180°C fan-forced. Using a heart-shaped cookie cutter or a small knife, cut feta into a heart shape, reserving excess feta.

Step 2

Place feta heart in centre of tray. Place tomatoes around feta heart on tray. Crumble reserved feta over tomatoes. Add garlic to pan, then drizzle with oil, season and scatter over chilli flakes. Bake for 30 minutes or until feta starts to brown.

Step 3

Meanwhile, cook pasta according to packet instructions.

Step 4

Remove tray from oven. Using a fork, crush feta, tomatoes and garlic. Add drained pasta to tray and toss to combine. Scatter over basil leaves and serve.

Indulge in the festive flavours of raspberries and white chocolate in a crispy tart crust, perfect for creating a magical Christmas atmosphere at your holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

300g Anzac biscuits

100g salted butter, melted

200g Woolworths white cooking chocolate, broken into squares

13g gelatine leaves

370g raspberry conserve

375g raspberries

1/2 cup Woolworths thickened cream

225g Woolworths cream cheese

1 tbs icing sugar mixture

5 Woolworths meringue kisses

Method

Step 1

Process biscuits in a food processor until fine crumbs form. Add butter. Mix until well combined. Reserve 1 cup of mixture. Press remaining mixture over sides of a 24cm-wide fluted flan tin. Press the reserved mixture evenly over the base. Place on a baking tray in the fridge for 1 hour or until firm. Melt half of the chocolate following packet instructions. Pour into pastry case. Spread evenly over the base. Return to fridge for 5 minutes to set.

Step 2

Soak gelatine in a small bowl of cold water for 5 minutes to soften.

Step 3

Meanwhile, place conserve, raspberries and ½ cup water in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring often, for 3 minutes or until the mixture is well combined and comes to the simmer. Remove from the heat. Using a potato masher, mash to break up raspberries. Squeeze out excess water from gelatine. Add to raspberry mixture. Stir until completely dissolved. Transfer mixture to a medium bowl. Place in fridge, stirring twice, for 1 hour to thicken slightly. Pour into the prepared tin. Place in fridge for 2 hours or until completely set.

Step 4

Melt remaining chocolate following packet instructions. Set aside to cool slightly. Using electric beaters, beat cream in a small bowl until soft peaks form. Place cream cheese and icing sugar in a separate bowl. Beat until smooth and well combined. Beat in the cooled melted chocolate. Fold in whipped cream. Dollop evenly over the raspberry layer. Spread evenly. Place in fridge overnight to set. Lift tart out of pan. Decorate with remaining raspberries and 3 meringues. Crumble remaining meringues and sprinkle on top. Serve.

Scary and sweet, these pretzel treats make the perfect Halloween snack. Using only three ingredients, they're so easy to whip up.

Ingredients

290g white chocolate melts

100g salted pretzels

25g edible candy eyeballs

Directions

Step 1

Line a large baking tray with baking paper. Place chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, then microwave on medium for 4 minutes, stirring halfway, or until melted and smooth.

Step 2

Use a fork to dip a pretzel into chocolate to coat, allowing excess to drip off. Transfer to tray. Arrange eyes on top. Repeat with remaining pretzels, chocolate and eyes. Refrigerate for 15 minutes or until set. Serve.
